Pride and Joy
Pride and Joy were orders of the day. Firstly Joy - it was a great morning on the gallops, and all worked well, Mattaking went first lot and went well, he will be declared for Plumpton on Monday, lets hope we get a run, and second lot, in the sunshine, were Ogee with Important Business, and Kikos with Troglodyte. Alan Gibson and Maurice Folley were in to see this lovely bunch of horses work. Bobby Gee and Rousing Rob continued to gentle exercise before stepping up their work next week. After second lot it was a quick change and then off to Newmarket where Crystal Capella, who was bred by Mrs Robeson and her brother in whos name she runs, was running in the Group 2 Pride stakes. Crystal Capella had won her previous four starts but still needed to improve to take a hand, but she did just that, holding on by a head in a hard battle to the line. She relly is so tough and genuine - she had to survive a Stewards Enquiry but Sir Michael Stoute and his team were confident that she would keep it, and she did. Another wonderful result for Mrs Robeson and her team at Southcourt Stud, and Crystal Capella is a lot to look forward to next season, as she stays in training. A great day, and a slightly fuzzy head!
