Saturday 29 NovemberFoggy MorningA bit of a pea souper this morning, and very difficult to see much of the first lot! Mattaking cantered and looked very well, he is still taking things easy after his fall, and will continue to do so next week, after which he will be schooled again and hopefully we will find that his confidence has not been dented too badly. College Ace breezed well ahead of his run at Leicester tomorrow. Second lot saw Ogee do a very good piece of work with Bobby Gee, and he will have an entry for a Class 2 hurdle at Sandown next Friday. Bobby will hopefully go to Leicester on the 10 December. By third lot the fog had cleared and it was good to see Important Business do two strong canters. He is very well, but we do need some dry weather for him to get his favoured ground. As the winter draws on he is less likely to get his ground, so he may be forced into a little break and brought back for the spring. After watching morning work it was off to a very cold and damp Towcester for an afternoons social. Bloody cold, but a good afternoon out, although I am glad we did not have any runners there as the ground was very tacky and holding, and it looked like really hard work for the horses. |
