Rip It Up And Start Again
The work has started on the gallop. The old woodchip surface will be taken off and a new and different one put down. With all of the string bar two, Benefit Cut and Ogee still doing steady canters it will not affect their exercise programmes too much. The work is scheduled to be done in two stages with half the stretch being done at any one time, leaving plenty of yardage for the horses to stretch their legs on. Ogee has had his run, so it will not affect him too much, and Benefit Cut showed his well being at the weekend, so they know just where they are with him. He will need to go to an 'away' gallop and do another fast piece of work, but that will probably be next week. Talking of Ogee - he has been raised 2 lbs for last weeks win. The handicapper being sensible - a 10 year old that has won his last 2 - he can hardly be improving - and has beaten a total of 5 horses in those 2 runs - he has a chance of winning again!
