Just The Ticket

Bold Conquests run in Warwick yesterday was 'just the ticket'. He ran a really solid race to be third in a very tight handicap, in which a whole host of horses could be given a squeak! Brendan gave him a super ride, he has got to know him well, and has certainly found the way to get the best out of him. His jumping was very good yesterday, making just one slight error at the third last, which was good to see, after a not so good performance on that front on his last outing in May. BC will come on very slightly for the run as he is a lazy so and so at home, but he was pretty straight yesterday and saw out the marathon trip well. Looking at it in the cold light of day, the winner was obviously a grade or two higher than the rest, the second was evidently thought to be very well handicapped as it was the talk of the track, and very well backed all day. In finishing third, BC has beaten all the rest that were in the right grade and off of their correct marks - so he has run very well. His mark looks workable if we can find a suitable race for him, and there is a whole lot of fun to be had with him over the coming months!! He seems to have come out of his race in great order, although he is described as a little 'hyper' this morning, so he, like all of his owners that made it to Warwick yesterday, must have a had a fun day too!! Remember - just a couple of shares left for sale in Bold Conquest, so have a look on the For Sale Page, and give me a ring on 07909 518902!! We had our fair share of rain yesterday, which meant that Stuart could school this morning. He schooled Christmas Twenty upsides this morning, and he is reported to have schooled very well. Stuart did say that he had worked very well yesterday, so we will be looking for a race for him shortly - with a maiden hurdle in Chepstow an option on the 30 September, or a novice hurdle in Warwick on 1st October. San Telm and Smart Exit are also in rude health and will be ready to run in early October. Cloonacool is still on track for Market Rasen on Saturday. An entry of 19, with some pretty smart types, means it will be a big ask for him, but this has been the plan since the spring, so fingers crossed he will go well. Paddy Brennan is booked to take the ride. Native Princess will have an entry in Bangor on October 1st, if the ground there is not suitable, her next opportunity will be the 10th October in Chepstow. Savingforvegas is being ridden, and is looking in fine form. She has had treatment for a sarcoid, which has worked well. The process will take a little longer to complete 100%, but at least she has been on the walker for a few weeks and is now back under a saddle. Looks like a busy time ahead
