Sunday 2 March

Returns are in fashion this week. Classic Ben has an entry in the Midlands National in a couple of weeks, but it was a speculative entry, to have a look at the opposition, and see if it was a realistic target. Initial entries have him 1lb out of the handicap, so first thoughts are he would not run there - he will also have an entry in Sandown On Saturday 7th March in a 3m 0-135 chase. He loves the place, and has won at the trip, and this race represents a class drop from his last couple of runs there, so it could well be the preferred option. We will look at both races next week and decide where to go. Another return is Figarella Borget, who is progressing very nicely, and coming to hand quickly. As we know she needs a sound surface, so it will be a day or two before we see her out again, but it is good to hear that she is back in form again. Another one returning is Go Millie Go - who next week will return to ridden exercise. She too handles better ground, so the team at Fences Farm will continue forward with her, and she will have a summer campaign. Molly Childers is well, and will hopefully go to Bangor On Dee at the end of the month, if that doesn't happen as the track isn't fit - then there are a couple of options around that date that will suit, all be it, they are open handicapes and not retricted to mares only. Land League is another one close to a comeback, but again he will wait until there is some better ground about. Yauthym is in great order - and is on course for her next start in a few weeks time.
