Monday 16 March

What a week we had last week - Cheltenham at it's best, despite the efforts of Covid-19! Great racing - great social, and one that will not be forgotten in a hurry! It is very lucky that it was held last week, as if t was to be held this week it would do so behind closed doors, as the BHA have just announced that all racing from tomorrow will do so without public attendance. So not the best week to have three entries. Yauthym will head to Huntingdon on Thursday for the fillies juvenile hurdle that opens the card. She is in great order, and the track will be perfect for her, along with the drying ground. Not sure who will ride yet - as last week Paddy Brennan damaged his ankle, and Conor Brace is also on the sidelines (but may be back). Classic Ben has entries in Haydock and Exeter, but will stay at home, as he isn't quite sound this morning. He wasn't quite right last week, and although it appears to be nothing serious, the Fences Farm team will get him right before he runs again. A real shame as the Haydock race looked like a great chance for him. Molly Childers is entered in Bangor On Dee at the weekend. She is an intended runner, and it looks like a good chance for her again. As I write, racing in France has just been abandoned for a month, and British racing has joined Irish racing and gone behind closed doors. I am still waiting for confirmation as to who will be permitted to attend, but if the UK follows the Irish, and French models it will mean that no owners will be allowed to watch their horses. As soon as I have the relevant information I will be in touch with all clients, and explain the options that we have, as I am conscious that if members cant see their horse run, it is far from ideal, and we may be better off drawing stumps with a few and heading them off for a summer holiday a couple of weeks early. I will update on here later in the week, with individual horse news as well.
