Lightening does strike twice - as poor old Mattaking will be staying at home again tomorrow as he has missed the cut for his intended day out at Southwell. A real shame as he continues in fine form, and the ground is still perfect for him. I suppose the inevitable will happen, and as soon as he gets in a race the ground will change and he will not be suited by it. Rousing Rob had just a little cough this morning and so will be scoped to see if he has a little bug - a course af anti-biotics may be needed. Not the end of the world for him, for like a lot of the produce of his sire Selkirk, he will need soft ground and the forecast does not look favourable for that at the minute.Kikos is in good form, and with Market Rasen maintaining good ground for their weekend fixtures it is likely that he will be declared (although not certain). I am pleased to report that Trevor and Julie Kearney, our recent guests from New Zealand were so taken by the performance of Important Business at Uttoxeter on Sunday that they have purchased the share that was for sale in him. They will keep up to speed with his career via this website and others, and will view his races the same way. I am really pleased they have joined us, as they were a pleasure to show around, and I am sure that although on the other side of the world, they will have great fun following IB over the coming years.
