Tuesday 28 October

A glorious frosty morning, I really enjoy mornings like these, but let's hope it does not get too bad and we start to get too many meetings frozen off!! Otherwise it will be awful all weather fare for the next few months!! Sam was up yesterday and he schooled Kikos ahead of Friday, and he also schooled Mattaking over the chase fences, and was very pleased with him. He was careful, but not slow, so we have decided to change our plans slightly and run him over fences, and he has been entered in a 0-95 handicap at Huntingdon on Sunday. This does not look the strongest of heats and will be a nice introduction for him. It is over 2 miles and 4 furlongs which is 1/2 a mile further than he has been running over lately, but they will hopefully go a bit slower and he can get his jumping together on his first attempt over the bigger obstacles. The ground is Soft at Uttoxeter for Kikos, and he has run on that before so he will take his chance. He would only stay at home if the ground became quick, and with a bit of snow and rain about for the rest of the week he should run.Bobby Gee is in fabulous form, and striding out well, he will not take a lot of getting fit from here, and we are eagerly awaiting his seasonal debut. Ogee is also entered at Huntingdon at the weekend. Troglodyte seems to have come home safe and sound from his non-event on Sunday. A little hat becons for him too!!
