Sunday 16 November

Bobby Gee's turn to have a go round Cheltenham today, live on Channel 4 so we hope he runs well. In a perfect world we would have had another week with him after his muscle tear a few weeks ago, but we think he is fit enough to do himself justice. It was a misty and damp start to the day ( a little like my head)! and the ground was really not very good, but it should suit Bob. Bobby looked amazing in the paddock and was only just pipped to the Best Turned Out, but well done to Rachel who did a grand job! Mrs Robesons horses always look immaculate, and are a credit to her and her staff, I think that 3 of the last 4 runners have won the turn out, well done to all, including Beverley who took the honours with Ogee yesterday!! Sam bounced Bobs out in the front rank, and he travelled well, although his jumping out of the very sticky and holding ground, was not up to his usual high standard. At one stage it looked as though we were in with a good shout, but unfortunately a mixture of the tacky ground, and Bobby needing the run and not quite being match sharp, resulted in him fading away and finishing in mid division having been heavily eased. He will come on a bundle for the run, and we will lower our sights next time. Ogee seems fine after his run, and his next run will depend on how the handicapper judges his run.
