College Ace heads off to Ludlow today in search of his third win on the bounce. He is in fine form, but this is a step up in grade and he will have to be on his mettle to win. The preview of the race in the Weekender was very complimentary - 'College Ace is a fine advertisement for the training skills of Renee Robeson. A fair hurdler/chaser for Phillip Hobbs,College Ace became generally disappopinting after winning at Huntingdon in November 2006. Since joining Robeson last spring the seven year old has gradually recovered his zest and is in the form of his life, having won over this sort of trip at Huntingdon and Leicester on his last two starts, with cheekpieces fitted both times. He was value for mich more than the winning margin when beating Potts Of Magic a length and three quarters at Leicester last time,as he idled in front from the last fence and the first two finished miles clear. A 6lb rise looks lenient and he can confirm superiority over Potts Of Magic on 4lb worse terms to complete a hat-trick with good 3lb claimer Sam Jones, who was on board for both his recent wins, again booked to do the steering.' Good luck to all at Fences Farm and Liz Prowting, the hat-trick would be wonderful after yesterdays turn over.
