Yesteray we made another addition to our ever increasing ranks, with the purchase of a lovely Kayf Tara filly foal from the family of the great Grey Shot and Opera Cafe. Technically she is now a yearling, but has been purchased to either resell as a store in the spring of 2011 as a store or in the December of the same year as a breeze up. The nice thing about it is that if we really like her, we have the option of syndicating her and retaining her to run for us. She was consigned by Overbury Stud, who stand her sire Kayf Tara, and was bred by The Overbury Partnership which includes the well known owner Peter Deal, whos familiar colours have been carried by such equine stars as Make A Stand, the all the way Champion Hurdle Winner. This filly really fills the eye, she has size and scope, and is a lovely free moving girl who should be a very athletic racehorse. These were attributes that were not missed by the judges of yesterdays pre sale show who placed her third in the fillies class. Her siblings have all been very good looking, with a Tobougg making 42,000gns as a 2 year old, and her full brother making 88,000gns as a 3yr old store. She spent the night at Doncaster and will come home to Michael Kehoes at Stewkley, where she will spend the next couple of years in his care, along with a friend that was also purchased at yesterdays sale by Gerald Bailey. Fingers crossed for the future.Photos will appear shortly.
