Friday 20 February

Both horses ran really well at Sandown this afternoon, and it was a huge relief for Mrs Robeson and her team that the horses seem to be fit and well after the recent spell of bad weather. It is also a huge testament to the troubles that all of her staff went through to get the horses out during that time, their hard work and dedication is second to none. Bobby Gee ran in a very competitive handicap and did really well to finish 7th (only beaten 12 lengths). It is obvious now that we really do need to step him up in trip, and we are even more sure that chasing will be his game, but we can't waste his novice tag, so he will be stepped up in trip over hurdles for the remainder of the season, where Jamie, who regretted going down the paint today, feels he is well capable of winning of his current mark.Mrs Robesons homebred Icterus ran a great race in the bumper to finish fourth. He has always shown a little ability and a really likeable attitude at home and behaved impeccably on his debut. He ran a really nice race, showing a nice turn of foot, just getting tired in the last furlong. As he has never been off the farm before he will surely have learnt a lot for the run and he may just be up to winning a bumper. All in all a really enjoyable day at a lovely track, and one from which we take lots of positives.
