Wednesday 11 March

Not a bad start to the festival yesterday, 4 winning bets, but with the banker being turned over it was not overly rewarding. We were a bit unlucky with Medermit in the first, just jumping into the back of a tiring Cousin Vinny may have cost him - the lay of Cousin Vinny was good business. I'msingintheblues was a little disappointing in the Arkle, but we were rescued by Planet Of Sound who ran a blinder to be third. All looked well at this stage with three bets advised and three draws, but then came the William Hill Chase and both of our selections running no sort of race - but what a McCoy Masterclass - what a ride he gave the winner, almost worth losing to see that!!Then came The Champion Hurdle. A very good run from Binocular but ultimately not quite good enough, but a good result for racing with Punjabi winning. Time off for the Cross Country, but good to watch, and we ended the day on a high note with one of the easiest Festival winners you will see - Quevega in the last - Bolted in to end the day on a high and in front, but not as far as we would have been had Binocular been in front on the line and not 3 strides after it!! Wednesdays tips will appear here shortly.
