Saturday 11 April

Bobby Gee has not gone to Haydock today as the bends are still good to firm and he will not be risked on that. The decision has been made this morning to begin the next stage of his career - when the conditions are suitable at home he will be schooled over fences and hopefully we will get rain and he will be able to run in a Novice Chase before he goes out for the summer. This is what we have been waiting for, and I am really looking forward to seeing him go chasing. Heebie Jeebie and E Major remain on target for their engagements this weekend. last night I gave a talk to the local Young Farmers Club about racing, which seemed to go down very well - I even managed to explain the intricacies of the handicap system and they understood it, so it must have gone well. Thanks to John - the farrier at Fences Farm for loaning me a whole heap of shoes etc, it was a great help.
