Saturday 18 April

A bit fresh on top of the hill this morning, but good to see Alan Gibson - who was over to see Kikos do a very niece piece of work, and to give Important Business a polo as well, as he recouperates in his box. Bobby went well upsides Kikos, and given some give in the ground will make his chasing debut after April 25th - this way he remains a novice for all of next season. E Major is fine after his run and is on light duties for another few days. I have discussed his near to medium term future with Mrs Robeson, and will be in touch with his owners in the near future. A great finish to the Scottish National this afternoon, with Hello Bud just holding on from a fast finishing Gone To Lunch under a typically strong AP ride. Hello Bud had beaten College Ace at Wincanton last week, so in one way it was nice to see the form franked, but also there is the distinct possibility of College going up in the handicap as a result, so a bit of a double edged sword. But it does prove what a great run it was from College on ground that really was too soft for him. Daurica is entered in a Mares Maiden at Southwell on Wednesday, and Kikos will be entered for a Novices Handicap Chase at Market Rasen on Saturday.
