A good night at Towcester last night, lost of folks to chat to and a real end of term feeling, relaxed and enjoyable. Interesting to see Daring Racer in the second - the last time I saw him was in a stable in Germany - we had gone out to vet him as I had done a deal to buy him for the Tyringham Partnership. He failed the vetting, but came over to Simon Dow a few months later and ran on the flat and over hurdles. He really is a lovely horse, but now plies his trade in the bottom grade, and it makes me wonder whether the reasons for him failing the vet are contributing to him being in this grade. Daurica runs at Southwell tonight. The press do make you laugh sometimes - before her last run her bumper form was said to be woefull, they said she shad showed no sign of ability - now they are saying she showed hints of ability - you be the judge! Personally I think she will be alright in her grade, but off of level weights tonight she may have a bit to do, although Tom O'Brien is reunited with her, and he felt that she would have been closer last time if he knew her a little better, so lets hope she shows up well. Kikos on course for Market Rasen on Saturday, he seems very well.
