Jamie Moore suffered a broken ankle in a fall at Southwell yesterday, and is currently in hospital in Nottingham where he will have the displaced fracture pinned and plated later today. Jamie has ridden a number of horses for us - E Major, Bobby Gee,Mattaking and Important Business, and he is a good strong lad. He had plenty of success on Cyd Charisse, and I will never forget the chunky bracelet he won when winning on her at Uttoxeter - it really was 'special' and would have been worth a fortune if he had weighed it in for scrap!! We all wish him a speedy recovery, along with Richard Johnson who suffered a shoulder injury at the same meeting yesterday. A lot will now be written about the track and the fences in an attempt to get to the bottom of why there were so many fallers in the opening 2 chases - but I think AP McCoy summed it up perfectly when he said it is moderate horses going too fast for their own good over obstacles that do take a bit of jumping, the jockeys did seem to slow it up a bit in the later races.
