Tuesday 20 October
Everything in the shed so time to turn our hand to the winter tasks of selling crop and getting winners!! All seems on course at the moment, and we will be ready to rock and roll when the rain arrives. Bobby Gee is setting a few pulses racing - his work on Saturday was the best that I have seen from him for 18 months, he is in rude health, and his schooling is simply exceptional!! Stuart has been busy watering the schooling ground, and Bobby has had a go with both Il Duce and Ogee - both Sam and Jimmy were in yesterday to do some schooling - Sam on Bobby and Jimmy on Ogee, and Ogee had to really put his foot down to stay in front of Bob. He is very accurate and fast, and is a lot to look forward to!! Jardin De Vienne is also in great nick, and will be aimed at 2 or 3 races in early November, all over 2m 4f - 2m 5f, which should see him in a better light. He has also been schooling well, and has really improved since his first efforts earlier in the Autumn. JDV is bigger and stronger than he was a couple of months ago, and will run a big race off of 109 if my theories are right( BIG IF). Rousing Rob just tweaked a muscle last week, but seemed fine yesterday, so he is still on course to make his debut in a bumper next month. He is finally loosing his excess weight, and is starting to look good. He worked with Bumper winner Willow Wren last week, and made her go a bit!! The remainder of the horses are all in good form, there are a few entered this week - keep an eye on Rock Wren if he runs at Wincanton on Sunday, he could be joined there by College Ace and Icterus, College is in grand form, and Icterus has schooled well.
