Wednesday 9 December
I will be speeding over to the vets this afternoon when they have a look at Rousing Rob, after which we will all put our heads together and decide a route forward with this most testing of horses. Rock Wren makes his handicap debut at Leicester, and with SP still out Jimmy Macarthy takes the ride. RW seems in good form, and could well run into a place, although the horse at the bottom of the weights was well backed to win last time and there could be a bit more to come from him. Bobby Gee has a slight foot infection, John the farrier has been to him this morning, and hopefully the situation is under control and he is still on course for Uttoxeter next week. It is something that Bob has had before, so nothing to be alarmed about, but it does go to show how the simplest of little things can upset plans.
