Friday 5 March

It was worth their horrible trip to Ludlow yesterday, with Rock Wren cruising to an easy 6 length success in the 'boys' race. Galoshes had got things under way, and was a warm favourite for the 2m 5f handicap hurdle, and after cruising to the lead off the home turn he was swallowed up to finish a close fifth. A very brave run, from a very game horse. Rocky was completely overlooked in the market, going off a very much unfancied (by most, but not all)!! 28-1 shot (out to 42 on Betfair, thankyou very much)!! He was given a peach of a ride by Sam,who now only needs one more to ride out his claim. He cruised to the front before turning in and was never in any danger, he jumps so well for Sam, and it was great to see the pair come away for a well deserved success. As usual the Racing Post completely overlook the race in its review of the meeting, not even a mention from a David Baxter who wrote the piece, but as Mrs Robeson always says - 'just let the horses do the talking' - the right sentiment, but it does annoy me when the results of all the hard work of the team at home fail to get a mention in the press!! We will be watching ITV1 on Sunday afternoon, when Jay Tabb, part owner of Bobby Gee will be in action for Reading FC against Premiership highflyers Aston Villa in the FA Cup. It has been a great run for them in the Cup, beating the likes of Liverpool, and West Bromwich Albion on the way, and if they get through this tie they will be playing the semi final at Wembley! A great incentive, and good luck to all the lads that will be turning out on Sunday!!
