Saturday 1 May
May Day! May Day! Kikos is feeling so well after his win at Uttoxeter we are forced into a re-think. Sam rode him this morning, and he is so fresh and well ( he struggled to hold him) that the thought is we have to run him while is in such form. For this reason plans to not run him again until May 29 have had to be altered, and he has been entered today for a handicap chase at Aintree next Friday (7 May,Evening). We will see how he is over the course of the next few days, and a decision will be made mid week as to his participation - it is great to have him in such brilliant form!! It was a lovely morning on the hill, and the sun always brings out a few owners - lovely to see Howard Cooke and his partner Clare first lot to see their new boy, Important Business school over six fences which he did very well (Sam was smiling), they also saw their other long term project 'Grey Bobby' show some spirit as he continued his education, they saw a lovely flying display by Jo, and a 'well held' moment by Selena, which led to a few laughs! Ollie, Paul, Ken, Kevin and Brian were also in second lot to see Kikos rip Sams arms out! And Jardin De Vienne - who worked well alongside Kikos. Mattaking is an intended runner at Fakenham on Tuesday, unfortunately Brian Toomey is banned for the day, so Sam will be back on him. Matty looked in fantastic form this morning as he worked in behind College Ace and a very easy moving Important Business, so fingers crossed he takes his form to Fakenham and come home in front! Important Business is and intended runner at Huntingdon on Wednesday evening, so good luck to his owners! It will be a first runner for a couple of them, and it would be lovely to see him run well for them!
