Pleased to say that Bobby Gee came through his breathing operation OK yesterday and was back recuperating in his box at the vets by 7.00 last night. It is always a worry when horses go under general anaesthetic, but he came through it, and we can now look to the future. Geoff Lane, who performed the op said that when they got inside they could clearly say that the operation was necessary, there were obvious signs of paralysis which would have been seriously inhibiting Bobbys performances. On a day when Equiano was a very well backed winner of the Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot after a wind op, we are hopeful that Bobbys op will bring about some serious improvement. Talking of Royal Ascot, I hope you were on the double yesterday! Not a bad return 8/1, but today looks very tough, but Godolphin could have a good start to the day, with Antara in the first, and a speculative hint in the Hunt Cup is Tiger Reigns, who looks to be improving, handles quick ground and has the plum draw in 2, at 25/1 I think he is each way value, in a very tricky heat.Safina is fancied to take the spoils in the finale.
