Sunday 20 June

It felt more like November than June on top of the hill yesterday. With only very few horses in, the two lots that did work were pretty small. First Lot was made up of Important Business, Kikos and Skyflight, the latter a homebred winning flat filly who will be returning to run in that sphere after a layoff with an injury. Important Business just did 1 1/2 canters and went well - another piece of work on Tuesday, a school later in the week, and a breeze on Thursday should see him spot on for his run on Friday. He is entered at Market Rasen, and with 19 entries, some of whom look quite decent for the time of year, we will have a close look at it over the next couple of days. Kikos went well, Mrs Robeson reports him to be in fantastic form, and he will go to Stratford on July 11th . It was good to see Ollie, who today is riding his bike from London to Brighton, a total of 57 miles, which will mean he will be walking 'funny' for a few days. Good luck to him. Alan Gibson was over too, unfortunately he missed his boys work first lot, but was able to see E Major, Mattaking and Daurica all go well second lot. Mattaking seems to be in good form , and after a piece of work on Tuesday, Stuart seems to think we will be looking for races for him again. Daurica is well and will be entered shortly, and E Major is having a little break after his last run, as he finished very tired, but should be out again early next month. Glad to report that the girls had a fabulous day at Royal Ascot - they didn't need to back winners to stay 'in the fizz' as thanks to Betfair it was free all day - so they were very 'happy'!! They even managed to get in the Paddock and Winners enclosure before and after the Group 1 Coronation Stakes, in which Cheryl managed to back the 25-1 second (Luckily each -way)!!! Hopeful of a new purchase form Ireland this week, I will keep you posted.
