Thursday 26 August
The weather has really changed around - from the dry arid heatwave of early summer to 3 inches of rain in 3 days and it is still raining!! At least the ground is now perfect to school on and Robo should get his first sight of the chase fences today. They started to gently canter him yesterday as he is really fresh, and the reports are that he gives a lovley feel and is a very very nice horse - only 1 share left now, so give me a call!! (07909 518902) Bobby Gee and Kikos will also school and both appear in great form. Daurica was disapponiting at Bangor last night, travelling OK for a circuit before falling back. She did not blow for long and that may well be it for her. She did win her 2 races, and does have ability, so she could go on to be a broodmare as she is at least a sound horse. I was really pleased to hear recently about one of our former horses Paix Eternelle. 'Nellie' was purchased privately out of Nicky Hendersons after finishing second in her debut bumper and finishing mid division in the Listed Mares Bumper at Aintree. Unfortunately for us she was plagued by injury, and never got to see the course in our colours and was sold as a broodmare. So it was lovely to hear that she has bred an outstanding foal, one with real quality and presence! This foal is likely to be a sports horse and will not be seen on the racecourse, but I am sure if is like mum it will go on to do very well - she was a lovely girl.
