Wednesday 22 December
Another sprinkling of snow overnight, which will not help things at all. Looking at the temperatures, which are forecast to drop again over the Christmas period, racing could be a bit thin on the ground. Towcesters Boxing Day card has been abandoned again - it is a meeting that the course purchased from Newton Abbott a few years ago, at some expense, and since they did, they seem to have lost it to the elements on a fairly frequent basis! Only one entry for the yard over the holiday - Bushlark at Huntingdon on Boxing Day, but it looks unlikley that they will race there. This lack of recent action has given me the chance to go back over some recent runs, and putting aside the devastation of Robo's sad loss at Cheltenham ( NOT easy)!! Our last ten runners have returned the form figures of 1,3,2,2,1,6,1,4,3,1 !! Which is some run! 4 wins, 2 seconds, 2 thirds a fourth and a sixth is a superb run! Long may it continue. I did have a couple of enquiries yesterday about new syndicate horses for 2011, so it is onwards and upwards - we need to find another Robo!! There are still shares in Omaruru and Kikos if you are struggling for that last minute present!!
