Sunday 2 January
We were all gutted for Michael and Fiona Kehoe at Cottenham Point To Point this afternoon, when their horse Ringa Bay, 'won' the 3 mile maiden only to lose it in the stewards room. Most people assembled considered it the wrong decision, and a groan went up from the crowd as the stewards decision was announced. There was interference after the last, but Ringa Bay did go on to cross the line 3 lengths in front, so it is very hard to say that it affected the result to such a degree as to reverse the placings. I was particularly pleased for them as I purchased Ringa Bay at the Cheltenham Sales a while back and sold him to Michael to run in points. He is a very decent prospect having finished second in an Irish point to point at Dromahane as a four year old and I am sure it will not be long before he gets his head in front - AGAIN!!
