Friday 21 January

An early heads up for the members of the Racing Club with an interest in Omaruru - He will be entered at Sandown on Saturday 5th February, in both the Juvenile Hurdle, and also in the 0-120 Novices Handicap Hurdle, in which he will receive a 10lb weight for age allowance. The Juvenile is less likely as it is over 2 miles, and is traditionally a hot heat, but the handicap over 2 1/2 miles looks a distinct possibility. If owners could let me know in plenty of time about badges I would be grateful, as it will not be easy at Sandown! Grey Bobby is in rude health! After missing out last weekend the plan was to give him a few easy days and let him chill out a bit, but unfortunately he does not respond to a lack of work that well, and gets very fresh! Yesterday he managed to deposit his jockey ( I won't mention a name to spare her blushes) and galloped around the farm for a bit! Stuart says he should go in the mud as he went across the ploughing in great style!! He is being aimed at a Hereford bumper at the end of the month. Bobby Gee is in good order and a plan will be hatched for him in the next few days. Don't forget - I am still offering £100 cash back to anyone that introduces a new member to either of the Kikos or Omaruru clubs, there are a couple of places left in each - anyone is welcome to have a share in both, which would mean you got all year round racing as Omaruru is a winter horse and Kikos runs through the summer!
