Monday 24 January

Grey Bobby has this morning been entered for a bumper at Hereford on Sunday. This will be his debut, and it will be good experience for him.He is bred to come into his own over a trip and fences, so Sunday is unlikely to be his day, but it will be his first trip to the races and it will do him the world of good to get this run under his belt. Sunday Sharpner has been declared in the Novice Hurdle at leicester tomorrow, this will be his third run after which he will qualify to run in handicaps where he should find things suit a little more. Lureyno is entered in a couple of places later this week, but he is another who will find life more to his liking in handicaps. It was great to see a few faces on the gallops on Saturday morning, for one of our 'legendary mornings'. Jo and Kevin Hornby were up along with Mike Cox and Alan Gibson. Terence Jenner was also on the hill, with his son in law Martyn Fowkes. Martyn, like Jo and Mike has a share in Omaruru, and will have been pleased with how he worked. Terence's first venture into ownership was the the brilliant, but ill fated Robo, and keen to get back into the swing of things he has decided to take a share in Kikos for the summer, as he misses going to the races - we are planning to replace Robo with another potentially top class recruit that will be running next Autumn/Winter.There will be no update tomorrow as we will be leaving early to go to Doncaster Sales, where I will be trying to secure another star of the future at their annual National Hunt foal sale - fingers crossed we come home with a little beauty!!
