Thursday 3 February
Unexpected overnight rain at Chepstow has eased the ground to Soft, so Grey Bobby will not make the trip across the Severn tomorrow. He has an entry at Wetherby on Saturday, and with the ground currently Good To Soft there, that will be his next target. if they do get signifucant overnight rain, there are further options next week, and thankfully he is fit, and keeping a lid on himself and being very sensible, so ticking him over until a target is not proving to be a problem. We have been through both intended races for Omaruru 'a hundred times' and there are pros and cons with both. Sandown offers the bigger track and a stiff finish that will suit, but the race will be contested by better horses, Fontwell offers a tight, tricky track, but an extra 2 1/2 furlongs and slightly lesser opposition. The gut feeling is still Fontwell, but I will make some calls this afternoon to try and assess what horses will be in at Sandown.Stuart breezed omar this morning and he said 'he nearly pulled my bloody arms out' - so he is feeling very well. Kikos arrived home yesterday. It is good to have the boy back, and I am really looking forward to getting him back on the track in the spring.Bobby Gee is in great form, and a decision regarding his next run will be made over the next few days.
