Tuesday 1 March
There are times in life when you are just better off where you are, no matter what the circumstances! For Bobby Gee on Saturday that was definitely the case! Bobby is currently locked in his stable nursing a very sore hock (getting better by the day), but could have gone to Newcastle on Saturday for the Eider Chase. The Eider ended up being just about the most unedifying sight you could see on a racecourse - just 3 finishers (the third actaully stopped and had a breather) with the winner and the second only just having enough energy to clamber over the final two fences! So as it turned out Bobby was probably in the best place despite his injury, and will be back next season! Omaruru is entered at Newbury on Friday, looking at the entries he is more likely to run in the Juvenile Hurdle that opens the card. Unfortunately one of his loyal and enthusiastic owners Janice Albone will not be able to see him run as she is having a serious operation this week - we hope all goes well and wish her a very speedy recovery. Hopefully Omar can be the best medicine. Ogee is entered at Doncaster on Saturday, where hopefully it will be third time lucky, and he will get to the races and actually run!! The drying week ahead should help! Lureyno is entered on the same card.
