Monday 16 May

It was good to see 'The Jenner Clan' over at Fences Farm on Saturday morning to see the as yet unnamed 4 year old by Exit To Nowhere, and Kikos, both of whom they have shares in. They were able to see the 4 yr old jump a few poles before gently skipping up 3 flights of hurdles. As it was only his third go at it he did it really well, and is a very able and willing pupil. After he had a little pop he rejoined E major and Kikos and we were able to see the three canter past on the top of the gallop. I was very pleased to see the 2 yr old by Overbury being ridden along the drive. He has been the perfect pupil, and has been a joy to break in. He has real size and scope, and will be a very imposing horse in the future. He, along with the 4 yr old 'Exit' will head off to Michael and Fionas today for their holidays. The 'Exit' will be back in early July, and the Overbury will be back in in 12 months to do his 'secondary school', when he will be re-broken and ridden away. Grey Bobby will also return in early July. Bobby Gee has had his hock medicated - it was very swollen after the invasive proceedure carried out in Newmarket, but I am pleased to say that the swelling has gone down considerably since the medication. He is sound in walk at the moment - but the acid test will be in a months time. Stuart and I popped over to Colin and Ann Garratts, Ringtail Farm on Saturday - always a good visit - tea, cake and a chat! and we had a look at Omaruru out with his friends. Omar has really let himself down well and is a huge bull of a horse! I said to Stuart 'he looks like Denman'! Let's hope he can build on the enormous potential he showed last season!
