Thursday 23 June

The time has arrived for the inaugural running of our charity cricket match. Tonight a Nick Brown Racing XI made up of owners, friends and hopefully one or two jockeys take on an Eversholt XI at Eversholt in aid of Racing Welfare. This event was the brainchild of Alan Garratt(Kikos + Omaruru) and thanks to him for organising the ground and opposition and more importantly getting the bar open! Alan only came up with the idea about 5 weeks ago, but we hope that it will become an annual event, and if all goes well we can make it bigger and better in the years to come, and raise further funds for charity. For those making the trip the post code is MK17 9DT. Back on the horse front - E Major ran a good race yesterday, finishing beaten 10 lengths into 8th in a very competitive handicap hurdle. Emo is only a pony but may be schooled over fences now as he is too high in the handicap to win a hurdle and he was very nimble over the 'baby'fences yesterday.Omaruru will return to Fences Farm today for his pre op preparations (ie.a bath) and will go to the vets tomorrow ready for his op tomorrow evening. See you all tonight - let's hope the weather is kind! The forecast is giving us a chance!
