San Telm ran a sound race in Fakenham on Friday. Putting to bed any nagging doubts that had surfaced after his last poor effort at the Norfolk Track. Still no reason for that - just put it down to a bad day, and kick on. Back over 2 miles, he travelled and jumped well, and ran right the way to the line to finish fourth, beaten 6 1/2 lengths. Although a winner at the track we feel he would be better on a more conventional course, and will aim him somewhere more 'normal' next time. I have to say that we were keen to do so this time, but the excellent prizemoney the Fakenham executive put on tempted us back there. San telm went out in the field over the weekend and seems fine. Omaruru is entered in Haydock on Wednseday, and all being well will take his chance in the 2m handicap hurdle, he worked very well again at the weekend, and I am really looking forward to seeing him on the track again.Kikos worked well with E Major, and it won't be long before we see him again. Smart Exit went for a ride around the farm with the Kayf Tara filly. I have leased 3 shares in the filly over the past week, and plenty are showing an interest, so places are becoming a little scarce - give me a call on 07909 518902 to have a chat about her - she is good looking and very well bred, and should be the right type for summer bumpers! Not a vintage Gold Cup on Firday, but fair play to AP McCoy who was simply fantastic on Synchronised. To keep a horse balanced and jumping well, when it is flat out is some task, and he showed us just why he is number one. Pretty sure Long Run is not the horse of old, but well done to connections of The Giant Bolster who ran a lifetime best to be second.
