Friday 27 April
On this day 6 years ago we had our biggest winner - Olney Lad won the Betfair Novices Chase (won last year by Wishful Thinking) in Punchestown. Fantastic memories of a great week spent at their premiere jumps meeting, and a wonderful result! I usually watch the action from Punchestown every year wishing I was out there once again - but I have to say it has been a different story this time around. The rain has been biblical, and they have done exceptionally well to get any racing on at all!! Yesterdays action was of the very highest order - a great running of The La Touche Cup over the banks course with a head bobber after 4 miles plus! And Quevaga was simply awesome in the Ladbroke World Hurdle! Back closer to home I thought I would flag up some possible projects that we could have coming up over the summer and into next season. With the success of Colebrooke last year (and Omaruru the year before) I am keen to go back to the same source and secure another 3 yr old for a juvenile hurdling career. This one will be purchased for his juvenile hurdling career only, and will be offered for sale in the spring of 2013. We have increased the capital value of both of the juvenile hurdlers we have purchased and are now looking to have one and make some money for his owners! There will be 4/5 shares available, and would imagine each share would be £6k - £8K. Another project will be to get a nice chaser to go to war with next season. I have my eye on a couple and will make enquiries over the course of the next few weeks. This will be a fun partnership with 8-10 members, and each share will be £1,000 - £1500.I am really looking for a staying chaser (Like dear old Bobby Gee) and I have my eye on a couple of lovely horses that will give a bunch of owners some serious fun over the course of next season.
