Monday 30 April
This must be the wettest drought on record!! What are the chance of having 2 runners declared today and both the meetings be off at the end of April? Well that is what has happened to Mrs Robeson, who was due to run Honeycreeper in Towcester, and also had Plastiki from the Sir Michael Stout yard declared in Windsor, and both are waterlogged.I thought it was due to be dry Saturday, but we got wet! A few hardy souls braved the top of the hill and saw Kikos slip on nicely with Ogee. These two boys will need it to dry up before they can go again! The Kayf Tara filly continues to impress, and went very well again. She improves every time I see her, and if she has a gearbox we will be having plenty of fun with her. The deadline for name suggestions is on Friday, so if you have not put forward your ideas then get them over to me ASAP so it can go in the draw. An exciting week coming up - a meeting tomorrow night with a man that wants to join in with the juvenile hurdler we will be buying this year, and trip to the Hunter Chase night in Cheltenham on Wednesday as guests of Tom McCreadie (Kikos Omaruru and the KT filly). Congratulations to Ben Turner, who along with his Cardiff City team mates made it through to The Championship playoffs on Saturday with a win over Crystal Palace. They meet West Ham (who are my team) in the semis, so my loyalties are torn, but after a chat with Ben on Saturday I can wait another season for the hammers to go up and I am right behind him!!!!
