Tuesday 1 May
May Day! May Day! ITS RAINING AGAIN!! When will we ever see an end to this wet spell? More meetings have fallen by the wayside and the flat boys must be tearing their hair out! All these blue blooded horses to run on lovely ground, and if they run they will be slopping through mud!! Us jumps folks of course don't mind - in fact it is interestring to note that in the most atrocious conditions in Punchestown last week, which would never have been allowed to take place over here - there were no fatalities, and no jockeys injured! It may not have looked great, but soft sloppy ground is safe ground!! All in all there is not too much to report. The Kayf Tara filly is still going well (don't forget to get your suggestions for a name in before Friday)! Kikos will have multiple entries from 13th onwards, mostly in novice and maiden hurdles, but there is a chase for him on 18th in Aintree, which is his usual port of call, but this year they have removed the upper ceiling which may force him out of the bottom of the weights. Honeycreeper has an entry in Uttoxeter on Saturday, where hopefully soft ground will be right up her street. If you fancy a good night out - all in aid of 2 very worthwhile local charities then please have a look on www.broomvillageball.co.uk We will be having a table on the night, and I do know that there are just a few tables left - so go on - get together with your friends and get a party up to dance the night away!! It's all in a good cause!
