Friday 6 July
Mission just about complete! Over the course of the past 2 weeks I have been pouring over the Tattersalls July Horses In Training Sales catalogue. Which means I have scoured through each and every one of the 584 entries in a bid to secure a really nice 3 yr old to go Juvenile hurdling over the course of the next few months, and hopefully take us to the Cheltenham Festival again next March. We have had considerable success with the same plan over the past couple of years, and are looking to continue the good run. The new horse will run for a new Partnership, made up of 6-8 members, most of which will be new faces to Fences Farm. My homework has narrowed the number of targets down to 9, from which we will try and secure the best. These 9 are spread over the 3 days of the sale so we will be back and forwards to Newmarket next week to look them over and hopefully make a few bids! All exciting stuff! An interesting week of features in The Racing Post this week regarding syndicates. I have read them all with interest, and it seems like the syndicate scene is thriving. We are all but sold out of shares, with orders to buy new horses for existing clients, which is, I think an indication, that as a team, Nick Brown Racing, and Mrs Robeson and Stuart at Fences Farm get the job done, at a very very reasonable cost! If you are interested in ownership (and please remember shares start at just £20/week) we would love to talk to you. It is a great sport, and syndicate ownership has a great social side to it as well!! I highly recommend the share available in Smart Exit - he is a super horse that will be very well handicapped this Autumn, and will surely be gracing the winners enclosure sooner rather than later, with the scope to go on and make a really nice chaser who should take his new owner to some pretty big races at some of the biggest meetings in the future. Go on give me a ring - the share is not as expensive as you may think, and will look positively cheap in 6 months! 07909 518902.
