Monday 29 October
Brett The Vet has been in this morning to do some routine scopes, and everything has got a clean bill of health. The good news is Benefit Cut has finally got the go ahead, and will have an entry in Huntingdon on Sunday and Kempton on Monday. His participation will depend on how he works on Wednesday, so hopefully he will get to make his eagerly anticipated debut for his new owners at the weekend.Colebrooke has also scoped clean and will be entered in Wetherby on Saturday, and San Telm is 100% for his trip to Haydock on Wednesday, where the rain has got into the ground, which is now Good To Soft, Soft in places with more rain forecast on Wednesday. While just tracking the Huntingdon entries on line I have noticed that there are very few in a 2m 0-95 chase in Huntingdon on Sunday, so we have popped Tannerman in to have a look. He is by no means a definite runner, but it would be a shame to look at the race this afternoon and wish we were in but not have had an entry! At least this way, if we think it is the right thing to do we can give it a go - I will keep his owners posted! Smart Exit looks likely to go to Wetherby on Friday, with the gorund being more suitable there than in Huntingdon, it is a conditional jockeys race and the plan would be to try and get top claimer Brendan Powell Jnr to do the steering, but I am sure he will be in much demand!
