Thursday 13 December

The recent cold snap has claimed several meetings including Huntingdon's big day today. We had entries there, but Benefit Cut would not have taken up his engagement anyway due to a dirty scope earlier in the week. BC has today been entered in 2 races in Newbury next Wednesday, when he should be clear of any infection. He is in a maiden hurdle (2m) and a EBF Novice Hurdle qualifier (2m 3f). Usually these are both very strong contests, but it is worth popping him in and having a look. He will also have an entry in a 2m novice hurdle in Towcester a week today, and we will pick the best option for him. Colebrooke was also entered in Huntingdon today, but would not have gone either as his engagement in Lingfield on Saturday looks like a better race for him. Last night after a chat with Joint Partner Ben Turner we decided, that as he will be carrying top weight, it was worth taking a few pounds off, so we have provisionally booked Josh Moore to do the steering. Josh rode Reyno in Doncaster a couple of weeks ago, and I was impressed with him. As Ben said the last time we claimed off of Colebrooke when he had top weight it worked well (Brendan Powell in Sandown), so let's try it again! Colebrooke continues in very good form, so hopefully they will not get too much rain in Surrey on Friday!
