Lingfield managed to stage their racing on Saturday, on heavy ground, and Colebrooke took his chance in the 2m handicap hurdle. We have been struggling a bit wit C this time, but as I have reported on this page, he had really burst into life over the previous 2 weeks, and we thought he would run well. It looked a strong heat on paper, with David Pipes horse looking a grade above them all. I had been very impressed with Josh Moore when he rode Reyno in Doncaster, and we felt it was the right thing to do to claim a valuable 3lbs off of his back. He was told to keep it uncomplicated and bounce out handy, which he did to the letter and rode a very good race, we will use him again.Colebrooke ran a blinder to finish second. He was never going to beat the winner, but has beaten everything in his grade by 8 lengths, so we are understandably thrilled with him. He seems to have come out of the race in good order, and we will look to run him again in 2-3 weeks. Benefit Cut looks like being the next runner on Wednesday or Thursday. There is heavy rain due mid week, so it is more than likely we will take the first available opportunity which will be Newbury on Wednesday. That decsion will be made this afternoon. San Telm is entered in Haydock on Saturday and continues in good form, heavy ground will hold no terrors and he should go well in a valuable handicap. Ogee had a fun day on Saturday, when Alice took him hunting. Hopefully the rain stays away and he gets to go to Doncaster on the 29th.
