Thursday 27th December

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, unfortunately there was no let up in the wet weather over the last couple of days, which has led to a change of plan with a couple of horses. Tannerman plans have been somewhat simplified. He was in a couple of chases in Leicester tomorrow, but after an inspection yesterday they run their hurdle races, so the two races he was entered in have been cancelled and he will not be going there. The race at Doncaster looks hot, so yesterday he had some entries in Fakenham. The Norfolk track is a regular spot for us on New Years Day, and we have had plenty of success there on the that day! San Telm won there last year and Mattaking also started his year in great style at the meeting! They look like having the best ground around and Tannerman has entires in both Hurdles and Chases over a range of trips. We did not enter him in Warwick or Uttoxeter on New Years Eve as the ground at both tracks looks like being very bad, so now that he has plenty of options at Fakenham we can simplify things and say that he will be going there! Now all members know not to have too much the night before! Smart Exit has also been popped in a race in Fakenham, but his target remains Uttoxeter on New Years Eve.Grassfinch has an entry in Warwick on the same day. Reyno is entered for his hurdling debut on Saturday in Doncaster. Colebrooke is entered in Fakenham as well. He is in fantastic form at home and we think it is the right time to try him over 2m 4f again, as he was obviously not 100% when he tried the trip earlier in the season. Ogee has entries in Doncaster and Cheltenham. San Telm has come out of his race in good order, and will go again in the middle of January, his form franked again yesterday when Loose Chips won the last in Kempton.
