Both Haydock and Taunton have been forced to abandon their big meetings tomorrow. Haydock have an inch of snow with more forecast, and Taunton lie under 3 inches. Yesterday afternoon they gave a going stick reading of 3.4 in Taunton, and considering the jockeys claimed it was practically unraceable at the last meeting when the going stick was 4.3 we decided that we would bypass Somerset anyway! Shame about Haydock, but not a shock - San Telm will now have entries in Doncaster and Huntingdon next Friday. Towcester is off on Sunday, and Tannerman will be entered in Fakenham (Thursday Hurdles/Chase) and Doncaster (Hurdles, Friday), he is in great form! Hopefully the groundsman at Goldington Road can keep the pitch covered and playable - watching the rugby down the town may be the only chance of any sports for me this weekend!!
