Smart Exit heads down to 'Leafy' Lingfield tomorrow - Tom O'Brien rides. SE started the year well with a win on Jan 1st, but failed to follow up next time at Huntingdon where things went wrong for him at the start and he never got into a rhythm or jumped like he can, due to being cramped on the inner in mid field. He also had a slightly iffy scope a week or so after the run, so he may just have been feeling off colour on the day as well. So hopefully we will get a better show tomorrow, although it is a very competitive heat. This morning we all held our breath to see if Tannerman would be dropped 1lb, and if Benefit Cut would get a mark. Tannerman was not dropped despite the horse that finished in front of him in Doncaster being beaten nearly 20 lengths next time (she also remains unchanged on her new mark despite the defeat). It just goes to show how easy it is to go up, and how bloody hard it is to be dropped! Tannerman will now have entries in Chepstow (9th) and Warwick and Market Rasen (10th). Sorry to all members that are keen to see him run, but we will have to wait a few more days to get him out! Benefit Cut has not been allotted a rating, and the assessor may want to see him run again before he can guage where he is with him! We will know more in a day or two.
