Friday 7 March
Both Benefit Cut and Tannerman have been declared in Market Rasen on Sunday - BUT - they will only run if ground conditions suit. Neither horse enjoys a soft surface, and although the ground at the Lincolnshire track is currently Good, Good To Soft in places, they are expecting plenty of rain tomorrow. If this is the case and the ground changes to anything softer than Good To Soft they will not make the trip. Brendan Powell is booked to ride both. I have to say at this point, that if the forecast is correct, then both stand little chance of running. Colebrooke was checked over at the vets yesterday, where they found a particularly sore region in his back which they immediately medicated. Hopefully this will put him right again and he will be able to run again this season. Talking of Colebrooke - best wishes to his owner Jay Tabb, who, last night went to Ipswich Town on a 1 month loan deal. Jay has been out of the first team at his club Reading, and this move should see him gain regular first team football, and may even lead to a permanent deal in the summer! San Telm will do a piece of work tomorrow, and if all goes well he will have entries for the 16th. Smart Exit is still on course to run at the end of the month. Norse Wren was another who made the trip to the vets yesterday, and fortunately his ailments seem to be the type that will mend reasonably quickly. All of Tannermans owners need to to a bit of a sun dance tomorrow, and hope that the forecast is wrong. We look forward to seeing you all in Market Rasen (if he goes) - if not have a great weekend!!!
