Colebrooke is on his way home from the vets in Newmarket today. He has been there since Monday, for them to try and determine why he was intermitanly lame behind. After a bone scan yesterday, they were able to confirm that he was suffering from a stress fracure to his tibia in his near hind. This sounds bad, but is infact a good result. The prognosis is excellent as there is no damage to soft tissue, and after a few weeks R&R he will be able to go out in the field and enjoy a holiday before resuming training in July. A big relief, as his lameness was beginning to be a bit of a worry for his owners Ben and Jay. Benefit Cut continues to get entries as we would hate to miss the first race run on his favoured good ground! Wetherby next Wednesday is the latest to go on the list. Smart Exit is entered in Fontwell next Tuesday but will not want the ground to be too soft, which is looking increasingly unlikely judging by the forecast! Tannerman is in the same boat - he looks unlikely to get his favoured sound surface in Stratford on Saturday, and his next options will be Fakenham and Plumpton on April 1st.
