Friday 26 April

Smart Exit has 2 entries over the weekend, but will now miss both of them. Over the course of the last couple of days he has started to show the effects of a long hard season, and the decision has been made to head him off on his holidays. He has won his hurdle race this season, and next autumn he will start off in the job in which he should excel - chasing. he has had his niovice run (3rd Fontwell), and is now qualified for handicaps, so we should start seeing the best of him with some softer ground after his summer break. He will go out to grass with Colebrooke and Omaruru, and will be back to Fences Farm in mid to late July. The quest for a Tannerman replacement has begun, and I will be making a few enquiries about possible targets over the next couple of weeks.
