The Fonz was disappointing last night in Ludlow. Sent off the 9-2 second favourite he didn't jump with the same fluency he had shown in Bangor, where the cheekpieces were employed for the first time, and either couldn't or wouldn't quicken when they upped the tempo. In fairness the race was not run to suit, but it is back to the drawing board with him, and quite likely that he will be meeting a chase fence sooner rather than later. Once again the Benefit Cut form took a boost last night, when Church Field made it 2 wins in a row since finishing 43 lengths behind our lad in Kempton - just makes it more exciting for later in the summer!! Tara Dancer had her first little pop up the hurdles yesterday, and everything went very well - Alice had been looking forward to schooloing her again, and she was not disappointed! It's always nice to get more than you bargain for!! E Major is the next intended runner in Market Rasen on Sunday.
