Sunday 27 October

Colebrooke's run in Stratford yesterday has left Stuart, myself and co owner Ben Turner somewhat mystified. This season, C has been in the best from he has been in for a long time, and although yesterdays heat was very strong, we did expect him to run a nice race yesterday. Dominic Elsworth took the ride as all of our regular pilots were engaged elsewhere. C jumped out and travelled and jumped really well, but just as the race got underway in earnest he dropped away quickly, eventually being pulled up. The de-brief gave us few clues, and to rule one possible cause out, he was scoped after the race - he was 100% clean, so he had not burst a blood vessel. The only thing I can think of is that he is beter in smaller fields, which is the way his form looks, so for that reason he will probably go chasing next. Benefit Cut is also off chasing, and is fine after his run. Reyno a non runner today due to the quick ground. Entries this week include Guest Of Honour (Wetherby & Uttoxeter Friday) - he will have further entries going forward and we will pick the best of them. On Saturday he was the subject of an experiment at home, and he was a revelation - in Stuart's words 'He flew'. Smart Exit (Wetherby Friday) is in great form again, and we are hopeful of getting a prep run into him before his first big target race in late November. He will have entries in Plumpton and Warwick as well. Silver Wren is entered in Uttoxeter (Friday). Due to unforeseen circumstances there is a share for sale in Smart Exit, so if you would like a runner next week then give me a buzz and you can go to the races as an owner!! You will also be having a runner in a 'National' next month!! 07909 518902
