Monday 2 December

We have not been idle since the unfortunate retirement of Guest Of Honour, and last week a price was agreed for a horse to replace him, subject to it passing a veterinary inspection. Today was the day that Brett The Vet went to work, and I am pleased to say that he was happy with our new boy who will be arriving at Fences Farm tomorrow. We are delighted to have secured Dawn Commander to run for Nick Brown Racing, and are very much looking forward to cracking on with him. DC is a horse that I have watched for all his career, as I was actually offered the horse after he won his Point to Point in Ireland. He went on to win a hurdle race over there before joining Charlie Longsdon for whom he won more hurdle races and a chase, achieving a hurdle mark of 129, and a chase rating of 127. He has just had a month off as he was never due to run in the depths of the winter as he prefers a sounder surface, so the plan is to get him back into work immediately and aim him at a spring/summer campaign when he will be going to some of the better meetings. Only a six year old, and half brother to some very good horses for Paul Nicholls, he has time on his side, and I am sure that this handsome grey will give his owners a great deal of fun. The same deal as the Guest Of Honour deal applies. Those that purchased shares in GOH, will automatically own shares in Dawn Commander. The remainder can purchase shares in DC, or remain on a leasehold basis until May 1st 2014, when you will be required to purchase your share if you wish to remain in the syndicate. There is only one share available to lease/buy so if you fancy joining in the fun give me a call on 07909 518902.
