Tuesday 3 December
Maypole Lass worked really well with Colebrooke on Saturday, and schooled the same way yesterday - so it is all systems go for Aintree on Saturday. The Listed Fillies Juvenile hurdle was re opened yesterday, after attracting just 5 entries, and today 3 more joined them to make 8. One of them runs tomorrow, so the field will not be too big!! ML needs to finish in the first three to earn some valuable 'Black Type', which means that when her name appears in a sales catalogue it will be in bold type, indicating that she has won or been placed at the highest level - thus making her offspring worth more money! This has always been the plan since Ben purchased her - and it would be amazing if the plan were to come off! The 2 fillies that were in front of her in Leicester are both entered, but Paddy Brennan (who is booked on Saturday) felt that ML would be a whole lot closer the next time they met, so fingers crossed!!! Stuart collected Dawn Commander this morning and he is back at Fences Farm. Unfortunately we will be off to Aintree very early on Saturday, so we will have to make it the next weekend when folks can come and see him. Coffers is entered to run in Warwick on Sunday (another early morning), and has schooled really well ahead of his hurdling debut! Carolina Wren is entered in Wincanton on Thursday - it will be her first run back after a wind op. San Telm should be ready to run again in about 2 weeks, and Benefit Cut should be ready to go again in 3-4 weeks.
